Jefferson City Animal Hospital

Located in Jefferson City, Missouri this new veterinary practice embodies environmentally focused design to imbue wellness and biophilic sensitivity in the families and patients who come here to recover and stay healthy. A unique torqued roof line defines the building envelope offering varied shadow lines and vaulted ceiling spaces inside.

A full height storefront system veiled by an interior wood sunshade scrim faces East to frame the native tree lined landscape of Jefferson City. The building siting responds to topographic conditions while optimizing views, orienting for prevailing winds and passive cooling, and solar orientation for passive heating.

Project Notes

Working with [Heid Architects] to design our veterinary hospital was an incredible experience. From the start, [they] took the time to truly get to know us and understand our vision for the space. [They] went above and beyond by conducting extensive research on the area and our location, seamlessly blending our goals with [their] insights into a design that perfectly balances functionality and well-being.
